🧠 Pondering: The future of Don’t Joke About That
I like Drag Race a lot. I think I’ll still talk about it more (when it’s on), but it won’t be the exclusive focus of this newsletter. If this is where we part, I’ll understand. To paraphrase Casablanca: “We’ll always have (Mariah) Paris (Balenciaga).”
In the meantime, I’d like to keep writing. This post is part recommendation, part brain dump. Leave me a comment if this is something you’d enjoy.
🔂 Outfit repeating: Washed black denim
I appear as a guest on a recent episode of Crosswalk Crush (brag), which I thought was a grownups drinking wine situation, but turned out to be a Babadook Halloween party type of vibe.
Regardless, I have no regrets showing up in my go-to outfit of the fall: a washed black denim set I purchased from California Arts last year. The jeans give you both a slutty ass waist, and also a perrrrfect leg opening for the boots (Our Legacy Camions in my case).
🌀Obsessing over: the perfect cappuccino unfortunately
The worst thing that can happen to a person has happened to me, which is that my taste in coffee has become even more expensive and esoteric.
Grown ass man biking to Williamsburg for a pour over… will the indignities never cease??
I’ve decided the only remedy is for me to get really into making my own at home. Stay tuned.
💻 60+ tabs open about: Rugs
I am moving very soon, which means I have an excuse to entirely remake my life from scratch, becoming an entirely new human being unshackled from all the sins of my previous life. By which I mean I can buy a new rug.
This one from Nordic Knots speaks to me, as does this relatively inexpensive option from Rugs USA.
In my new space, I’d like to shoot for a cool-toned, eclectic, modern, chrome, color-drenched aesthetic. All terms I scavenged from Pinterest twelve hours ago, which now deeply resonate with me on spiritual level.
📖 Reading: The Picture of Dorian Gray
Oscar Wilde is such a gay guy. It’s been a while since I read a novel of his, and I forgot that he talks like that the entire time.
RIP Oscar Wilde you would’ve loved writing a bitchy Substack about Brooklyn nightlife.
📺 Watching: I Love LA (HBO)
Just a morsel of TV recapping, u know I couldn’t resist…
I first met Rachel Sennott in a UCB Improv 201 class in 2016 (none of those words are in the bible, but they should be). She was the funniest one. It’s been very fun to see her rise, and I’m eager to get a real taste of her acerbic POV with a budget. (In 2016 a UCB class was $399).
Fave line of the ep: “She’s like bread crumbing the post out like it’s her midwestern wedding photos.” Evil! Seated.
🥰 Smiling about: how Ralph hides in the comforter when I’m washing my sheets
That’s all :)

have u seen nordic knots bedding. like i needed another thing to pine over from them lol
